Auckland Electrification Project

From 2010 Pollen developed two rail electrification safety screen systems. The ARC for the Auckland Electrification Project and its derivative the ARC2 for the Adelaide Electrification Project. The ARC is a cost effective modular system of horizontal screens that meets and exceeds BRITISH STANDARD BS EN 50122-1:1998 Railway applications Fixed installations Part 1: Protective provisions relating to electrical safety and earthing.

Developed closely with client Kiwirail, AECOM engineers and Auckland Council the screens have become a symbol of the electrified rail network. The four part modular system may be assembled in any order giving each bridge its own unique identity. Whilst providing physical safety ARC goes further, the unambiguous lightning bolt form language integral with the structure, communicates a clear visual safety message.
